NAIROBI, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge said he was keen to win the London marathon and inscribe his name among the legends on Sunday.

Kipchoge, who has won 11 out of the 12 marathons he has competed since 2013, said he was fit and ready for the battle.

"I am fit because my preparation has been good," he said on Tuesday in Nairobi. "I think I will have a good result."

Among the rivals against Kipchoge are former world record holder Wilson Kipsang of Kenya - the only man who has ever beaten him, and Shura Kitata of Ethiopia, who was just 32 seconds behind when he was the runner-up in London last year.

"What we do the entire week is training hard, so that we may win easily. When you follow the training schedule, be disciplined and have your focus, success will always beckon on you," said Kipchoge.

Another threat may be Britain's Mo Farah, the four-time Olympic champion who is slowly mastering the marathon.

"Mo Farah is a strong athlete," said Kipchoge. "With all the people of the United Kingdom on the streets, he'll have a big run on Sunday."

On Sunday, Kipchoge will not rest on his laurels as he says he can't afford to take his eyes off his rivals, saying that "it's purely about finishing strong and coming home first."

Kipchoge who has the world record of two hours one minute and 39 seconds, says that he has never doubted his ability and loathes cheats and drug peddlers.

"You can win clean, you can compete clean and you can live in this world in a clean way," he said.

"The worst thing ever is if you use drugs if you use a shortcut because even if you perform you will not sleep in a good way. If you know that you cheated, you are not at peace," he said.
