MINSK, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Belarus has suspended the export of light oil products to Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic states, Sergei Grib, deputy general director of the Belarusian Oil Company, told local media on Tuesday.

The export obligations to supply light oil products, gasoline and diesel fuel to Ukraine, the Baltic states and Poland will be suspended until the issue concerning the Russian oil is resolved, Grib said.

Grib also said that the export suspension is aimed at completely supplying the domestic market.

The damage caused by the suspension is still being assessed, he added.

Earlier, the Belarusian state concern for oil and chemistry Belneftekhim announced a sharp deterioration in the quality of the pipeline oil flowing from Russia. Belarusian oil refineries have reported a threat of damage to equipment and reduced refining volumes by almost 50 percent.
