WINDHOEK, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The World Health Organization (WHO) in Namibia is set to hold the first ever Walk/Run for Health event in the country on April 27, just outside the city of Windhoek.

The event will celebrate World Health Day, which took place earlier this month, as well as the 71st Anniversary of the WHO, said the organization's representative to Namibia Charles Sagoe-Moses at the event's launch on Thursday.

The run is held in collaboration with Windhoek City Runners and is expected to attract over 200 participants.

"On Saturday, we will embark on the event for one of the most important aspects of our lives, our health. This initiative draws attention to Universal Health Coverage," he said.

"Health is a human right, and the global community has agreed, through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and specifically SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-Being," he added.

Sagoe-Moses said the run for health event is open to the public and partners from various sectors.
