7.7-magnitude quake hits 28 km ENE of Kokopo, Papua New Guinea: USGS

SYDNEY, May 14 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 jolted 28 km ENE of Kokopo, Papua New Guinea at 12:58:26 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 4.211 degrees south latitude and 152.481 degrees east longitude.
