MINSK, May 15 (Xinhua) -- The ninth international defense technology expo MILEX 2019 kicked off in Belarusian capital Minsk on Wednesday.
The exhibition occupies nearly 20,000 square meters and hosts over 170 exhibitors from 15 countries that bring their latest technology. Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan and China have the largest expositions.
The expo is considered to be one of the largest in eastern Europe in terms of its size, the composition, the level of participants and the infrastructure.
Since 2001, MILEX has attracted the interest of leading domestic and foreign manufacturers of military hardware.
In his greeting message to the participants and guests of the expo, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that the format of the exhibition once again demonstrates the openness of Belarus, and its interest in developing cooperation with other states in the field of security.
The expo will last till Saturday.
