TOKYO, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks extended losses Thursday morning as concerns over the outlook for the global economy soured the market mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 132.95 points, or 0.63 percent, from Wednesday to 21,055.61.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 9.46 points, or 0.61 percent, to 1,534.69.
Marine transportation, oil and coal product and security house-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
