BRATISLAVA, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Germany bounced back twice against Finland in Group A on Tuesday at the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships, with their star player Leon Draisaitl leading them to a 4-2 victory with two third-period goals.
In a battle of two Group A quarterfinalists, Harri Pesonen opened the score on a power play, but Marc Michaelis leveled things with Germany's first shot of the game.
Juhani Tyrvainen put Finland in the lead again early in the third with a prompt rebound goal, but again, the Germans came up with an answer, as Dominik Kahun's highlight-reel backhand left gave Finnish goalie Kevin Lankinen no chance.
Draisaitl tipped the scales in the Germans' favor in the third period with two goals. He provided their first lead of the game in the 45th minute on a fast break and added an empty-netter in the last minute to cement the 4-2 victory. The Edmonton Oilers star ended the night with three points.
