TOKYO, May 24 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the mid-109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, largely in line with its levels in New York overnight.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.57-61 yen, compared with 109.55-65 yen in New York and 110.29-30 yen at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1183-1184 dollars and 122.54-58 yen against 1.1178-1188 dollars and 122.50-60 yen in New York, and 1.1140-1142 dollars and 122.87-91 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
