YANGON, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will hold its first ever national robot competition in its commercial city Yangon on June 1 to promote robotics and education on science, technology, engineering and mathematics for students in the country, according to the organizer Sunday.

The Myanmar RoboLeague, organized by the Ministry of Education and the Rectors Committee, will take place at Thein Phyu Stadium.

Students are selected through a 90-minute online quiz, which includes five different categories -- math and logic, physics and mechanics, electronics, programming, IQ test and situational test.

Thirteen universities have been selected to represent 13 states and regions respectively in the league, while the other three universities will jointly represent Chin State.

The 14 teams will compete in seven matches and final teams will compete for four more matches.
