MOSCOW, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The participants of inter-Afghan negotiations held here on May 28-30 have failed to reach a ceasefire agreement, TASS news agency reported Thursday.
"There is only a statement saying that the ceasefire talks will continue," TASS quoted former Governor of Afghanistan's Balkh Province Atta Mohammad Noor as saying.
According to the statement cited by TASS, the participants discussed the continuation of intra-Afghan talks, a ceasefire, saving people's lives, the problem of prisoners and the withdrawal of foreign armed forces from Afghanistan.
They also discussed the consolidation of Islamic forces, the preservation of national unity and territorial integrity, as well as the rights of women.
