BUDAPEST, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Gross wages in Hungary climbed by an annual 10.2 percent in March, the Hungarian Central Statistics Office (KSH) said here on Thursday.

In absolute terms, Hungarians employed full time earned a gross monthly 367,200 Hungarian forints (1,260 U.S. dollars).

Net wages also climbed 10.2 percent to 244,200 forints during the period.

KSH pointed: "Both gross and net earnings grew to the same extent by 10.2 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year."

In January-March 2019, average gross earnings amounted to 352,200 forints and average net earnings to 234,200 forints; both of them grew by 11 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Twelve-month wage growth has been in the double digits since early 2017, after an agreement was reached by employers, unions and the government on big minimum wage increases paired with payroll tax cuts. (1 U.S. dollar = 291.45 forints)
