NEW DELHI, June 7 (Xinhua) -- At least six people were killed and four others injured Friday after a vehicle carrying them rammed into a goods truck in southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, police said.

The accident took place on the highway near Renigunta Mandal in Chittoor district, about 405 km south of Amaravati, the main city in Andhra Pradesh.

"An accident took place here today during early morning at around 5:00 a.m. (local time), in which a vehicle carrying passengers rammed into a stationary goods truck. Five people including two women were killed on spot, another succumbed in the hospital," a police official posted in Tirupati said. "Four people were injured in the accident and of them the condition of two is said to be critical."
