TOKYO, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Tuesday morning as the yen's retreat against the U.S. dollar encouraged investors to buy on dips following a round of profit-taking after the morning bell.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 73.67 points, or 0.35 percent, from Monday to 21,208.09.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 7.53 points, or 0.48 percent, at 1,560.47.
Securities house, mining and bank-related issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
