BERLIN, Jun 15 (Xinhua) -- Eintracht Frankfurt have signed Dejan Joveljic from Red Star Belgrade with immediate effect, the Bundesliga outfit confirmed on Saturday.

The "Eagles" have found a replacement for Luka Jovic who joined Real Madrid as 19-year-old striker Dejan Joveljic has penned a contract until June 2024.

"Of course he is still young and will have to learn a lot. Dejan is a very good striker and variably. We are very optimistic that the familiarization here in Frankfurt will be easy," Frankfurt's sporting director Fredi Bobic said.

The Serbian new arrival made his breakthrough at Red Star last season after providing 14 goals in 28 competitive appearances. He scored five goals in the league and helped Red Star to lift the domestic title. Joveljic also made two games in the UEFA Champions League.

"Hopefully we have many games in the upcoming season and Dejan will surely get his chances to prove himself," Bobic added.

Frankfurt's new arrival will start with Serbia's Under-21 into the European Championship in Italy on Sunday.
