KIEV, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine could receive 500 million euros (565 million U.S. dollars) in macro-financial aid from the European Union (EU) by the end of 2019 if certain conditions are met, head of the EU delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli said here Thursday.

According to the Kiev-based news agency Interfax-Ukraine, Mingarelli specified five conditions Ukraine needs to fulfill, among which combatting corruption and carrying out economic reforms are priorities, if Ukraine is to receive its second tranche of aid. Kiev received the first tranche of 500 million euros (565 million U.S. dollars) in December last year.

From 2014 to June 2019, the EU extended 3.3 billion euros (3.7 billion U.S. dollars) of aid to Ukraine, the largest of its kind directed to a non-EU country.
