Mongolia's anti-corruption agency arrests ex-PM

ULAN BATOR, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's anti-corruption agency, the Independent Agency Against Corruption (IAAC), on Friday confirmed the arrest of former Prime Minister Mendsaikhan Enkhsaikhan.

Enkhsaikhan is suspected of misusing his position and corruption while working as minister in charge of mega projects such as Tavan Tolgoi coking coal mine located in the South Gobi desert, according to the IAAC.

Enkhsaikhan served as prime minister of Mongolia from 1996 to 1998 and as minister in charge of mega projects from 2014 to 2016.
