KUWAIT CITY, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait urged the international community to cease escalation in the region and be rational in dealing with developments in the area, the Kuwait's government said on Sunday.
"Kuwait urges all parties concerned to be rational and seek the positive and constructive dialogue in order to defuse tension, and prevent the region and its people from further suffering," the government said in a statement.
Confrontation would only lead to death and destruction, it added, urging the international community to double its efforts to stop escalation and tension in the region, and to prevent any measure that would destabilize the security.
The government departments are ready to maintain domestic security and stability amid regional tension, the statement said.
