JAKARTA, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's highest justice institution of Constitutional Court (MK) decided to speed up the process of announcing its final judgment on presidential election results, an MK spokesman said on Monday.
"Based on results of judges assembly meeting today, the plenary assembly to announce MK decision would be conducted on Thursday from 12.30 p.m.," Head of MK Public Information and Domestic Cooperation Section Fajar Laksono said.
The MK had planned to announce the results on Friday.
He added that the summons for President Joko Widodo and Prabowo Subianto camps have been delivered to the two sides in preparation for Thursday's announcement.
The MK has concluded last week the hearing process related to Prabowo's lawsuit to challenge the General Elections Commission's (KPU) announcement on results of poll vote count.
The KPU qualified incumbent candidate President Joko Widodo as the winner with a landslide vote of 55.5 percent, or almost 17 million votes more than Prabowo's.
In his lawsuit Prabowo claimed that massive frauds had occurred during the poll process that led to the win of Widodo.
Prabowo demanded disqualification of President Widodo's victory, or a re-election process in provinces identified to have seen the frauds.
Some 47,000 police and military personnel would be deployed in the capital city during the announcement process, anticipating possible demonstrations or riots in the process.
Jakarta Police Chief Gatot Eddy Pramono said those joint personnel would be stationed in state facilities and areas prone from unrests.
"We are prepared to anticipate the worst case scenario. It (demonstrations or riots) happen or not, we will place our joint personnel in those locations," he said.
Riots that claimed nine lives took place in downtown Jakarta area after the KPU announced poll results last month. Investigation to identify mastermind of the deadly riots are underway.
