RIO DE JANEIRO, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Brazil and Britain signed an agreement on Monday to promote cooperation on public healthcare.

The agreement consists of a funding program established by Britain, which is part of the Prosperity Fund designed to support developing countries.

Under the agreement, Britain will offer financial help to the Brazilian government to strengthen its public healthcare system on several fronts.

"The British public healthcare system historically has a very high level of management and organization," and this agreement "will allow this expertise to be exchanged," said Brazilian Health Minister Luis Henrique Mandetta at a ceremony celebrating the agreement.

The minister said the fund will be used over four years in several areas in the Brazilian healthcare system, such as basic healthcare, digital technologies, new standards of data analysis, and evidence-based politics.
