Tunisian president admitted to military hospital over "serious health trouble"

TUNIS, June 27 (Xinhua) -- The 93-year-old Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi on Thursday was transferred to a military hospital in Tunis following a "serious health trouble," said the Presidency in a statement.

Last Saturday, Essebsi was admitted to the military hospital for medical examinations over a sudden indisposition diagnosed as "not dangerous."

Essebsi was born in November 1926 and took over the Tunisian presidency after winning the 2014 presidential elections.
