Chinese political advisors propose measures for education, virtue in families

BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisory body on Friday held an online conference on promoting family ties, education and virtue.

The conference was presided over by Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee.

Wang called for greater sense of responsibility of families and increased guidance from the Party and government to promote family ties, education and virtue for national development and a harmonious society.

During the conference, 15 political advisors and family representatives made speeches at parallel sessions in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shandong and Shaanxi, with more than 260 political advisors putting forward suggestions via mobile platforms.

Political advisors proposed a better guidance to help improve family education and integrate core socialist values into the process of nurturing family virtues.

Political advisors also called for more care for families in difficulties, children left behind in rural areas and children with disabilities.
