MINSK, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' foreign debt fell to 16.6 billion U.S. dollars, the country's Finance Ministry said on Friday.

The country's foreign debt decreased by 0.3 billion U.S. dollars as of June 1, or 1.7 percent since the beginning of the year, the ministry said.

Belarus attracted external loan of 326.7 million dollars in January-May, 2019. It spent 660.5 million dollars to repay foreign debt for the first five months.

Domestic public debt amounted to 9.1 billion Belarusian rubles (4.5 billion U.S. dollars) as of June 1, an increase of 2.2 percent from the beginning of the year.
