14 passengers injured as bus overturns at curve in N. Thailand: media

BANGKOK, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Fourteen people were injured as a bus transporting Chinese tourists overturned at a sharp curve in Chiang Mai’s Doi Saket district, northern Thailand, on Saturday afternoon.

Pol. Col. Pongpeera Karadket, chief of Doi Saket police station, told a TV channel that the accident happened on highway.

TV images showed passengers trying to crawl out of the overturned bus as rescue workers pulled them out of the bus.

Pol. Col. Pongpeera said on TV that the bus carrying Chinese tourists worked for Hana Tour with a Chiang Mai license plate.

A total of 14 people, including Chinese tourists, the driver and a bus crew member, were hurt, said Pol. Col. Pongpeera.

He also said that three passengers were severely injured and all the injured were rushed to Doi Saket Hospital.
