LISBON, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi said here on Wednesday that Portugal should be the gateway to the European market for his country and Africa.
"We want Portugal to be the gateway for Mozambique to the European market," Nyusi said at a forum here in Lisbon, adding that "we need to consolidate it so that it is for the whole of Africa."
"There is no politics or economy without a strong and committed business class," said the president, who was accompanied by about 70 businessmen on his state visit to the southwestern European country.
He said that the diplomatic ties between the two countries are excellent, and that it was necessary to "feed diplomacy with the growth of economies" to improve the quality of life of the peoples of the two countries.
