FRANKFURT, July 8 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index down 25.02 points, or 0.20 percent, to close at 12,543.51 points.
Deutsche Bank lost 5.39 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by pharmaceutical company Merck and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer, which lost 1.87 percent and 1.12 percent respectively.
Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas gained 1.03 percent, becoming the top gainer. Housing association Vonovia and global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard advanced 0.68 percent and 0.59 percent respectively.
Deutsche Bank was the most traded share with a turnover of 298.6 million euros (334.8 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
