"The White Storm 2: Drug Lords" still tops Chinese mainland box office

BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- "The White Storm 2: Drug Lords" continued leading the Chinese mainland box office on Monday, China Movie Data Information Network reported Tuesday.

The Chinese anti-drug action film grossed about 80.96 million yuan (11.8 million U.S. dollars), accounting for nearly 61 percent of the daily ticket sales.

"Spider-Man: Far from Home," the latest installment of the acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe, ranked the second, pulling in over 29.83 million yuan.

Coming in the third is Universal and Illumination's "The Secret Life of Pets 2", which grossed about 10.08 million yuan.

"The White Storm 2: Drug Lords" boasted a total box office of 512 million yuan since its July 5 premiere on the Chinese mainland.
