TIRANA, July 15 (Xinhua) -- The Albanian police arrested 9 people accused for drug cultivation in Kruja District, 20 kilometer north of capital Tirana, police said in a statement on Monday.
According to the police, among the arrested is also a police officer of Kruja Police Directorate. Three firearms, 5 hunting rifles and ammunitions were also seized during the operation.
"From the two months long investigations, it resulted that these citizens, in cooperation with each other, have cultivated narcotic plants in a forested area of the Shqeze village of Kruja district," the statement said.
The arrested people will face criminal charges of "drug cultivation", "production and carrying of military weapons and ammunitions" and for the "productions and carrying of hunting weapons without permission", according to the statement.
