Moutai airport adds 5 new routes in H1

GUIYANG, July 16 (Xinhua) -- An airport named after China's national liquor, Moutai, opened five new routes in the first half of this year, the airport said Tuesday.

The airport launched new air routes to the cities of Guangzhou, Harbin, Dalian, Qingdao and Nanning in the first six months, bringing its total routes to 20.

The passenger throughput of the airport rose 67.7 percent from the previous year to 717,100 during the period, and it aims to achieve a passenger throughput of 1.2 million and a cargo throughput of 500 tonnes by the end of 2019, said Chen Guilin, a senior official with the airport.

The airport was opened in October 2017 in Moutai Township of Renhuai city, southwest China's Guizhou Province at a cost of 2.4 billion yuan (350 million U.S. dollar).
