Belarus GDP up 0.9 pct in January-June 2019

MINSK, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The gross domestic product (GDP) of Belarus increased 0.9 percent in the first six months of 2019, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus said on Wednesday.

The country's GDP reached 60.3 billion rubles (about 29.64 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2019, the official statistics said.

The GDP deflator index in January-June 2019 totaled 106.9 percent compared to the same period of 2018.

The Belarusian authorities predict GDP growth of 4 percent in 2019.

The International Monetary Fund said the Belarus' economic growth will be 1.8 percent, the World Bank - 2.2 percent, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development - 2 percent.

The Belarusian GDP grew 3 percent in 2018.
