DAKAR, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Editor-in-Chief of Xinhua News Agency He Ping and Thierno Bifahim Fall, director general of the Senegalese national news agency APS, signed an agreement on strengthening news exchanges and cooperation here on Thursday.

Both sides vowed to enhance cooperation in all fields including new media.

Noting that China-Senegal relations are at the best time in history, He said at the signing ceremony that the two agencies should grasp the opportunity to further strengthen cooperation to adapt to the changing media landscape, and use new means to more effectively present China-Senegal cooperation results.

For his part, Fall said that the two countries enjoy a traditional cooperative relationship, and the two agencies have also maintained long-running sound cooperation, adding that the APS will actively take part in the coverage of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Invited by the APS, He also met with Birane Niang, secretary general of Senegal's Culture and Communication Ministry.
