LUSAKA, July 19 (XINHUA) -- A Zambia-based mining body has lauded China for investing in China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, saying that the fair is already producing desired results in terms of trade partnerships and investment.

Grace Njapau, secretary of Zambia's Association of Women in Mining, told Xinhua in an interview on Friday that in the case of Zambia, the expo has also helped the country to showcase as well as sell its products even beyond the region.

The expo is good for exposure, linkages and establishing long lasting partnerships, things from which her association is already benefiting from, said Njapau.

"It is at an expo that a company can clinch a big deal. Trade fairs are able to link you to potential buyers and investors," Njapau said while commenting on the recently held first China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, which took place on June 27-29 in Changsha, China.

Ngapau also revealed that because of the aforementioned expo, women in mining in Zambia are now connected to investors and partners who include mining and jewelry companies.

"We are now looking forward to great partnerships and opportunities for growth," Ngapau said.

"The expo proved to be very beneficial to women in mining as we are now connected to buyers and investors and are currently working on actualizing things," she said.

She further implored Zambian women to take advantage of the goodwill of the government of China and Zambia in promoting women in mining as well as jewelry businesses.

She also said that China presents big business opportunities for agricultural products and encouraged women and the general populous to take advantage of these chances.
