JOHOR BAHRU, Malaysia, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese table tennis players have secured women's singles champion at T2 Diamond 2019 after Zhu Yuling and Wang Manyu won their respective semifinal in Malaysia's state of Johor on Sunday.

Zhu dealt a crushing blow to Miyu Kato, scoring a decisive 4-0 victory over the Japanese who defeated world no.1 Chen Meng in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

"She had beaten two very good opponents in the previous rounds so I placed myself in the mindset to challenge her instead of thinking I'm the favorite," Zhu said after the match.

Zhu will face off in the final later on Sunday against compatriot Wang Manyu, who beat fellow Chinese player Ding Ning 4-3 in an intense point-for-point battle despite the Olympic gold medalist pulling her best moves in three FAST5 games.

"Ding Ning is such a great champion, and I have been continuously learning from her, whether in training or in competition," Wang said of her opponent.

In the men's singles, world no.1 Xu Xin was beaten by countryman Fan Zhendong 4-0, with Xu unable to last long enough to trigger a FAST5 game against his opponent.

Fan will face off against Lin Yun-Ju of Chinese Taipei in the final after Lin dealt a 4-0 blow against Wong Chun Ting of China's Hong Kong in the semifinals.
