KIEV, July 21 (Xinhua) -- Four soldiers were killed by an installed explosive device since a ceasefire came into effect early Sunday morning, said Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

The servicemen were killed early morning in a blast from an unknown explosive installed by the enemy in eastern Ukraine, said the ministry in a press release on Sunday, adding that two died on the spot while the other two died before arriving at hospital.

So far a "mutual ceasefire of all the weapons" starting from 00:01 a.m. local time (2101 GMT) has not been violated, the ministry said.

The ceasefire was made along the entire conflict line in an area controlled by Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation within the separatist stronghold of Donetsk and Lugansk, eastern Ukraine, according to the ministry.

The ceasefire agreement was reached in Minsk on Wednesday at a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group, a body working to facilitate a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
