BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhua) -- China is to see 46 million jobs concerning project management generated by 2027, Monday's China Daily reported.

Such massive job creation will be due to the country's demand for high-quality development and the Belt and Road Initiative, Sunil Prashara, president of the Project Management Institute (PMI) in Pennsylvania, U.S., was quoted as saying.

An average of 1.1 million jobs will be sought to be filled each year in the project-oriented industries within China, and a total number of 11 millions jobs are likely to be opened between 2017 and 2027, according to the PMI's Job Growth and Talent Gap Report 2017-2027.

A new project management professional certification test, or the PMP test, was introduced by PMI in China two decades ago. "The number of active PMP certificate holders on the Chinese mainland is predicted to exceed 300,000 by the end of 2019," Prashara added.

More job opportunities are anticipated with more resources deployed to stimulate the real economy and develop the Belt and Road Initiative. A huge supply of project managers is crucial for companies, said Li Jin, chief researcher at China Enterprise Research Institute in Beijing.
