Xi's special envoy to attend Mauritanian presidential inauguration

BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping's special envoy Wang Dongming, also vice chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, will attend the inauguration ceremony for the new president Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to be held in the country's capital Nouakchott, scheduled for August 1.

Wang's trip comes at the invitation of the incumbent president Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told a press briefing on Monday.
