Gasoline price drops across the United States

WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- The price of regular gasoline decreased across the United States, according to a report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Monday.

For the week ending on Monday, the average regular gasoline retail price decreased nearly 3 cents from last week to nearly 2.69 U.S. dollars per gallon.

For West Coast area, which includes the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii, gasoline price dropped over 1 cent to about 3.29 dollars per gallon, the report said.

For Rocky Mountain area, which includes the states of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and Idaho, gasoline price decreased about 1 cent to nearly 2.7 dollars per gallon.

For Midwest area, which includes the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee, gasoline price dropped about 3 cents to 2.63 dollars per gallon.

For the Gulf Coast area, which includes the states of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas and New Mexico, the gasoline price edged down about 4 cent to over 2.39 dollars per gallon.

For the East Coast area, which includes all other states close to the Atlantic Ocean, the price decreased 3 cents to 2.6 dollars per gallon.
