HELSINKI, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with two cars in northern Helsinki late Monday, local media reported on Tuesday.

Police said there were only drivers in the cars.

The crash happened when one of the cars, which drove in the oncoming lane, suddenly hit the motorcycle and the other car for unknown reason.

The motorcyclist, who was born in 1960s, died at the scene, and the two car drivers were injured and sent to hospital for examination.

The driver who caused the accident was born in 1970s. The police said the man seemed to be in a mental disorder when the collision occurred, but the tests showed that he was not drunk nor under the influence of drugs.

After hospital examination, the man was taken to police station for custody. The police were investigating the cause of his behavior.
