RABAT, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Morocco's foreign ministry on Thursday strongly condemned the deadly car bombing in Egyptian capital of Cairo, official news agency MAP reported.

"The Kingdom of Morocco has strongly condemned the despicable terrorist act that took place on Monday outside the National Cancer Institute in Cairo, leaving at least 20 dead and many others injured," the ministry said in a message sent to the Egyptian Embassy in Rabat.

Morocco reaffirms its solidarity with Egypt as well as its support to the fight against all forms of terrorism, said the message.

The ministry also extended its sincere condolences to the victims' families.

A statement released by the Egyptian Interior Ministry revealed that the car that caused the blast was found laden with explosives, describing the incident as "a terrorist operation."
