MOSCOW, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people were injured as two powerful explosions hit again an ammunition depot near the town of Achinsk in Russia's Siberian Krasnoyarsk Region, TASS news agency reported Friday.
One serviceman, two policemen and five civilians were wounded in the blasts and their condition is "moderately severe," TASS said, citing the Achinsk district central hospital.
Residents of Kamenka village near the ammunition depot are being evacuated to a safe area, according to TASS.
The press service of Krasnoyarsk Region's governor said the explosions happened during a shell clearing operation, but a source in the security services was quoted by TASS as saying that a lightning strike caused the blasts.
On Aug. 5, one person was killed and eight others were injured in a fire and consequent explosions at the depot during the operations of loading and unloading ammunition, according to the Russian Investigative Committee.
