BRATISLAVA, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Slovak President Zuzana Caputova will receive this year's European Prize for Political Culture on Saturday in the Swiss town of Ascona, Slovak news agency TASR reported Friday.
Every year, the Hans Ringier Foundation designates the winner of this 50,000-euro (56,023 U.S. dollars) cash prize, which is presented at a special ceremony held in Ascona on the first Saturday in August.
Previous prize winners included outgoing European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, outgoing European Council President Donald Tusk, outgoing European Central Bank governor Mario Draghi and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Last year's winner was Australian historian Sir Christopher Munro Clark.
Caputova is also expected to take part in a debate about European development on Sunday, TASR reported, citing the Slovak President's office.
