PIRAEUS, Greece, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Thanks to goalkeeper Jose Sa who was at his best on Tuesday night at Georgios Karaiskakis stadium in Piraeus, Olympiacos managed to qualify to the play-off round of the UEFA Champions League after beating Istanbul Basaksehir 2-0.
At the first half, the Turks had three good opportunities to score but Jose Sa was unbeatable. At the second half Ruben Semedo scored first at the 55th minute of the game for the Greek team and then Mathieu Valbuena doubled the goals for Olympiacos at the 78th minute of the game with a penalty.
Istanbul Basaksehir had two more chances to score but the goalkeeper Jose Sa blocked everything that was coming his way.
Now Olympiacos will face, in the play-off round, Krasnodar from Russia and the first of the two legs will be played at Georgios Karaiskakis stadium in Piraeus on Aug. 21.
