TOKYO, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar slipped to the lower 106 yen range in Tokyo on Wednesday, as following its surge overnight on eased trade concerns, market players sought to take profits.
The dollar was quoted at 106.44-45 yen at 5 p.m. local time, compared with 106.70-80 yen in New York and 105.19-20 yen at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Tokyo.
During the day, it tracked between 106.24 yen and 106.70 yen, trading most often at the 106.36 yen mark.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1180-1181 dollars and 119.00-04 yen against 1.1166-1176 dollars and 119.20-30 yen in New York, and 1.1192-1193 dollars and 117.73-77 yen in late Tuesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
