BANGKOK, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Shoppers scrambled out of a Bangkok shopping center upon hearing an announcement for emergency exit only caused by a false alarm on Sunday.
The shoppers hurriedly left Mega Bangna shopping center in Bangna area on Bangkok's eastern outskirts upon being falsely alerted for fear of an untoward situation on Sunday afternoon.
Less than half an hour later, the Mega Bangna management apologized the shoppers for such panic-stricken evacuation merely due to some malfunctioning alarm system installed at the shopping center and posted on social media to assure that the shopping center has resumed business as usual.
They looked worried about safety measures at public places following multiple bombings in varied areas of the capital earlier this month.
