KIEV, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine earned 1.48 billion Ukrainian hryvnias (58.8 million U.S. dollars) from the so-called "small privatization" of state and municipal property in a one-year period, Ukrainian media reported on Tuesday.

"On August 17, 2019, we celebrate one year of the start of small privatization of state and communal property, which brought budgets of various levels 1.48 billion Ukrainian hryvnias," Ukrinform news agency quoted online procurement platform ProZorro as saying on Tuesday.

1,142 successful auctions were held and 2,812 properties were sold at ProZorro. 239 Ukrainian cities, towns and territorial communities have taken part in the auctions, and the first auction in the system took place on August 17, 2018, according to the report.

Last year, Ukraine adopted new legislation on the privatization of state property worth less than 250 million Ukrainian hryvnias (about 9.9 million U.S. dollars), aimed at attracting more investors.
