FRANKFURT, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 64.19 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at 11,651.18 points.
Housing association Vonovia lost 3.12 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by energy group E.ON and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement, which shed 2.27 percent and 1.64 percent respectively.
Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas gained 0.56 percent, becoming the top gainer. European health care company Fresenius SE advanced 0.12 percent.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer was the most traded share with a turnover of 223.4 million euros (247.4 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
