BEIJING, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislature had adopted two laws and revised 10 more this year as of June 29, said a spokesperson Wednesday.

The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) also passed a resolution and heard 11 law-related bills from January to June, said Zang Tiewei, spokesperson with the Commission of Legislative Affairs of the NPC Standing Committee, at a press conference.

By the end of this year, the lawmakers will continue drafting the civil code and hear bills including the draft revisions to the laws on drug administration, land administration and urban real estate administration, Zang said.

In the following months, the NPC Standing Committee will also research and draft several bills, such as draft revisions to the criminal law and administrative penalty law, he added.

In a bid to expand citizens' participation in legislation, to date, the NPC Standing Committee has solicited public opinions on 15 draft laws this year, Zang said.
