BEIJING, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw," the latest spin-off of "The Fast and the Furious" franchise made its debut in the Chinese mainland on Friday.
Directed by David Leitch, the action film features Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham forming an alliance against a cyber-genetically enhanced villain that threatens the world.
The film raked in over 34.1 million yuan in presale in the Chinese mainland box office on Thursday.
Released in 2017, the eighth installment in "The Fast and the Furious" franchise, "The Fate of the Furious," earned over 2.6 billion yuan (about 377 million U.S. dollars) on the mainland.
