FRANKFURT, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 135.53 points, or 1.15 percent, to close at 11,611.51 points.
Automotive manufacturer BMW lost the most among the blue chips, down by 3.15 percent, followed by automotive manufacturer Daimler and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies, which lost 3.09 percent and 2.76 percent respectively.
Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard, housing association Vonovia and renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical were the top three winners, rising 1.12 percent, 0.53 percent and 0.53 percent respectively.
Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 250.4 million euros (277.0 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
