BASEL, Switzerland, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Defending champion Kento Momota breezed past India's Sai Praneeth B. in straight sets to reach the men's singles final of the Badminton World Championships here on Saturday.
The top-seeded Japanese took only 62 minutes to win 21-13, 21-8, setting up a final showdown against either Anders Andonsen of Denmark or Kantaphon Wangcharoen of Thailand.
India's Sindhu V. Pusarla beat China's Chen Yufei 21-7, 21-14 to enter the women's singles final.
In the women's doubles event, second seed Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota of Japan defeated Chinese duo Du Yue/Li Yinhui 21-11, 21-17 to book a spot in the final.
