THE HAGUE, Aug. 25(Xinhua) -- Swiss show jumper Martin Fuchs won the title at the FEI European Championships in Rotterdam on Sunday.
With his horse Clooney 51 the number two of the World Championships last year in the United States grabbed the victory over two rounds at the arena in the Kralingse Bos park. British rider Ben Maher captured the silver medal with Explosion W.
Jos Verlooy from Belgium took home the individual bronze with Igor after having already clinched the gold in the team competition on Thursday. The individual jumping final was the final event of the FEI European Championships this week.
The decisive course was disrupted by two animal activists, who entered the course during the round of Dutchman Marc Houtzager. The female activists had written the texts 'EC abuse' and 'Stop horse slavery' on their bodies. They were taken away by security guards.
